In an effort
to encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, I will start by stepping out
of mine, and sharing it with you- complete with pictures! I don't know about
you, but I'm tired of standing on life's side lines wishing things were
different for me, "If only I this, or if only I that".
No more
ladies! If you're not dead, you can
live!
This blog is designed
to give you the tools, and the excuse to do just that! I invite you to follow
me in my effort to live my wildest dreams and to find freedom in the journey.
You can't do things differently or do different things and stay the same. Every
rock you lift has something under it you did not know was there. Let's explore!
I'd like to recommend a blog I've been
following for almost a year now that is worth the weekly read, UNSTUCK. I stumbled upon this app on my IPad
and it has become a player in "My
Calvary", (a phrase a learned from UNSTUCK). Here is an article that is so revealing and
inspirational, you could go for a month just meditating on it alone!
Unstuck is
packed full of encouraging true stories just like this one, that can help
dispel the lies we believe about ourselves and our future. The only way to get
free is to start DOING! So let's begin…
GAME CHANGER
:
a newly introduced element or factor that changes an existing situation or
activity in a significant way
Call me crazy, call me courageous, but in a
desperate and somewhat, tired of sitting around waiting for things to change
attempt, I joined a local "Meet-up" group. It's much like internet
dating except you're looking for groups of females/and or males who share similar interest in your
community. Once you've been well screened and accepted into the group, you
attend the events that interest you. In my case I was looking for friends who
wanted to try new things around town, like restaurants, outdoor activities,
comedy clubs, or volunteering. I got the idea from this article in More
Magazine.
What I found is so much more than I expected!
It's a game changer Ladies!!
That's me on the end in white and green. I
felt so alive driving to the restaurant. I was full of expectation, and I was
not disappointed! I was CHANGED that night forever! It was addicting! (Not the
food- mediocre at best), but the adrenaline that came with putting myself out
there, being willing to fail, get rejected or just have a bad time was
exhilarating! And you know what I found out, these women were just like me.
They weren't clicked up or exclusive at all, they just wanted to have a nice
evening and chit-chat apart from the normal, JUST LIKE ME!
