Happy Fall from sunny Florida!
I know, I know, you
just love having seasons. You could never live where they don't have seasons.
Blah, blah, blah. I get it! Season's are very appealing. But I have to describe
a Florida fall, for you to grasp what it's like for us. Specifically a Florida
fall on the COAST!
This past weekend my husband and I decided to
take a ride to the beach. I live on the St Johns River and the beach is about
20 mins from my neighborhood. The weather
is just beginning to fluctuate a little bit, which for us looks like rain and a
cool breeze during the day, and cooler weather during the evening. I would say the high this day was low 80's.
To get to the
Jacksonville/ St Augustine coast line you must go over a bridge. Once you cross that bridge you are instantly
in a beachy wonderland. People are walking and riding bikes scantly clad
everywhere. Some are carry surf boards, some are just casual riding. The vibe is beach chic, laid back. It's as
though everyone is unemployed (Of course there's no way this could be true
because it's very expensive to live here).
Instantly, my cares just roll off me. Once
the beach comes in view it's as though all my troubles and concerns are put
into perspective. As we put our toes into the sand for the first time, all is
right with the world. I wonder why I care about half the things I care
about. I started snapping pictures
because I just wanted to capture the moment.
I say to my husband: "Can you believe it's October?" I feel so
blessed to live in Florida.

Possibly the last life guard of the year. Good bye lazy days of summer. I'm glad you make a slow exit...
